SEN Manager - Ashton Under Lyne

Are you a passionate, dedicated SEN Manager looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting an SEN manager to join a team based in Ashton Under Lyne. 

Pay Rates: £400 per day

Duration: 26/12/2022 - 6 months

Hours: Monday to Friday - 36 hrs/week - must be flexible - hybrid

SEN Manager role: Full JD Available

  • To be responsible for the management, development and implementation of appropriate policies and practices throughout the Special Education Needs Service.
  • To be responsible for the statutory assessment process and co-ordinating the outcomes of statutory reviews of statements/ Education, Health and Care Plans for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in mainstream schools both in and out of the borough and to manage designated Casework Officers.
  • Develop strong working relationships.
  • Deliver training for staff to ensure full knowledge.
  • Respond to comments and complaints.
  • To oversee the allocation of EHC plans with colleagues through the appropriate placement panels.
  • To ensure that all statutory timescales are met for all casework.
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff and parents where needed.
  • To respond efficiently and sensitively to all communications received from parents and professionals in connection with assessment casework, whether written or verbal.
  • To prepare and present the Council’s case at SEN and Disability Tribunals and Disagreement Resolution Service.

Essential Requirements:

  • UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
  • Post graduate qualification/ qualified teacher status
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the legislation, Codes of Practice and national guidance relating to the education of children with Special Educational Needs and its implications
  • Substantial experience managing a team
  • Previous experience delivering training/ managing budgets
  • Ability to represent the Local Authority in a SEN and Disability Tribunal
  • You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered onto the update service
