Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Engineer – Flood Risk/Drainage . You will be working in Hammersmith

Monday - Friday 

09:00am - 17:00pm

Temp Contract

Pay rate up to £29ph 

Job Purpose

  • To be responsible for the engineering required to design and deliver on individual flood risk mitigation projects, including Sustainable urban Drainage;
  • To lead the development of flood risk mitigation works across the borough liaising with both internal and external asset owners and key stakeholders;
  • To manage individual project budgets costs for any flood risk mitigation project, assessment of all contractor claims, reviewing external funding streams and including producing monthly monitoring reports for the Service Manager and Assistant Director and Finance ;

Main Duties

  • Develop and design flood risk mitigation measures in the public realm, to be used in individual projects or incorporated into larger schemes;
  • Monitor the progress of individual project assigned to you to deliver;
  • Ensure  consist project management is applied to each of the projects that you are responsible for;
  • Assist in the allocation of work between officers and engineers within group;
  • Supervise the work of individuals, ensure productivity and effective performance of the staff assigned to your allocated projects;
  • Ensure that incoming communications including enquires and complaints referred to  your allocated projects are processed speedily in accordance with agreed procedures;
  • Ensure that your individual project delivers the key administrations polices, goals and values;
  • Ensure the delivery of effective engagement and consultation on your projects schemes including ensuring co-production;
  • Achieve a satisfactory quality in all aspects of project delivery and contractors work ;
  • Prepare or obtain any necessary financial estimates in relation to work carried out for each individual project.
