Senior Practitioner | Mental Health/Youth Justice System | Southend (Rochford)
4Recruitment Services require an experienced Social Worker/Senior Practitioner to work within a Mental Health Team based within Rochford. The Successful Social Worker will be required to have a minimum of 2 years recent Social Work experience of working within a Mental Health team.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will already have highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work practice. Your advanced expertise and knowledge will help you to take the lead on the most complex cases within the department. The Essex Health & Justice Service is a multi-disciplinary, integrated team, commissioned to provide mental health care and support for those individuals within the criminal justice system.
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic senior social work practitioner who has knowledge of mental health practice and who is committed to promoting person centred approach informed by strengths’-based approach. The post holder’s main role will be within the HM Courts in Essex but may be required to cover police stations, offering screening and assessments to detainees that are identified as having mental health, learning disabilities and other vulnerabilities including social care issues, be able to complete reports offering advice, assistance and/or recommendations for disposal from court to criminal justice agencies. The ideal candidate should have some experience in delivering care to people with complex health and Social needs. We are looking for someone with an adaptable and flexible attitude towards teamwork. Ideally the individual should also have experience of working within the criminal justice system and possess good assessment skills.
To apply for this the Social Worker must have:
- A relevant Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work/DipSW or equivalent)
- Be HCPC Registered
- Be eligible to work within the UK
- Significant experience of working within child protection and safeguarding
- Knowledge of methods of social work intervention
- This role requires an Enhanced with Children and Adults Disclosure & Barring Service Check and Vetting to Level 2 by Essex Police
Salary is £36k - £43k per year.
