Street Lighting Operative

We are currently looking for a Street Lighting Operative. You will be working in Leicester for the council.

Pay rate up to £14.50ph

Job Purpose

To support the City Lighting team in the maintenance and installation of street lighting furniture. Street Lighting Operative with highways experience to carry out various tasks within the titled role ensuring that all H&S objectives and responsibilities are adhered to

Main Duites

• Installation, repair and maintenance of lighting columns, brackets, overhead cables, traffic signs, bollards, and festive decorations
• Operating and driving plant vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Test and inspect highway electrical installations in compliance with current wiring regulations
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards
• Installation and jointing of private underground network cable
• Diagnose and repair any electrical faults, rectifying any defects and reporting
• Changing lanterns, lamps, lamp holders, covers, electric cells, fuses, capacitors, switches etc.
