Coventry City Council - Grave Digging Operative (Estate Maintenance Team)

Location: Cannon Hill Road, Canley, Coventry, CV4 7DF

Contract: Initial three-month contract with possible extension.

Hours: 8:30am to 4:00pm – Full Time 37 Hours a Week – Monday to Friday

Payrate: £9.55 an Hour

Description:

To assist in the upkeep of the City’s six Cemetery’s, undertaking a wide range of horticultural and grave digging duties, this will include grass cutting, hedge cutting, collecting wreaths,

manually and mechanical digging and preparing graves, dress graves ready for interment and back filling and tidying of graves.

The job requires that you will work outside in all weathers (PPE will be provided) to ensure that we fulfil our commitments.

Responsibilities:

ASAP START

Primarily working at Canley Garden Cemetery and Lenton’s Lane cemetery we may need cover at other cemeteries and will give a day or two’s notice when this is required.

Must have driving licenses. After interview, an induction day with multiple applicants to get them familiar with the cemetery.
