Technical Officer – Rochdale

Contract, Full Time

£35 per hour

Job Purpose:

• To visit the homes of service users to assess the property and discuss disabled adaptations, repairs/improvements/ energy efficiency, home safety and security, giving advice/support in identifying the most appropriate solutions.
• To prepare risk assessments and ensure that all staff and contractors are working to the Health and Safety standards of the Service, the Council and in line with legislation and policy.
• To design and prepare plans, technical drawings and schedules of work for applications and enquiries relating to a range of grants and assistance such as Home Repairs Assistance, Disabled Facilities Grants to meet the needs of individual service users,. Checking external plans and designs where these are developed by others.
• To monitor output and quality of work performed by external and internal contractors and to ensure that contract specifications are met.
• To ensure that grants are costed correctly and that legislation and regulations with regard to correct means testing documentation are adhered to.
• To work in close co-operation with other team members, teams and organisations to ensure the best possible service for clients.
• To ensure that deadlines and performance targets are complied with and met.
