IT Technician – Highways - Wakefield

Full Time

£15 PER hour

  • Undertake duties within Highways Service to ensure the effective monitoring and operation of the Network Management Team, specifically:
  • To support the Network Management Team in balancing priorities to manage, co–ordinate, and ensure safe and good quality road works across the District.
  • Assess and input activities on the highway in to the various electronic ICT Systems.
  • Assess, input and record into the electronic / ICT systems works and activities carried out under Licence
  • In consultation with all parties, monitor and review works applications on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Receive, review and process temporary Traffic Regulation Order applications relating to works / events on the highway.
  • Receive, input and monitor Temporary Traffic Light applications. 
  • Respond to customer contacts using all forms of communication methods.
  • Update appropriate public information / media systems in relation to works within the highway.
  • Support the Network Management Team in ensuring that financial control and monitoring systems are populated accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for providing data to support the issuing of invoices for highway licences, highway permits, over occupation charges. 
  • To support the Network Management Team to deliver the duties under the TMA 2004 and NRASWA including the recovery of fines and charges associated with working on the districts highway network.
  • Prepare data for reports for the Network Coordination Supervisor and other audiences as required.
  • Ensure that appropriate processes and procedures are documented, communicated, monitored and reviewed to mitigate risk, ensure consistency and meet data quality requirements.
  • Continuously seek to improve processes by reviewing existing processes and procedures when required.
  • Ensure that contact with the wider Highways Service is maintained in line with appropriate procedures to ensure effective communication takes place.
