Are you a passionate, dedicated Youth Justice Service Probation Officer looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Youth Justice Service Probation Officer to join a Probation Service Team based in Bexley.

Pay rate is £20.95 - 27.29 per hour.

6 months contract initially.

Hours are 9am – 5.30pm (21 hours per week).

The role:

• The Probation Service seeks to safeguard the public, lower the chances of reoffending, and assist those under its supervision in leading positive, law-abiding lives.
• Supervise and support young people within the justice system.
• Case management of high-risk and high-likelihood reoffending cases: involves assessment, planning, and delivery of interventions, including specialized work such as with sex offenders.
• Collaborate with a multi-agency team across organizational boundaries, working with key partners to support the needs of the cohort, encourage desistance, and prevent reoffending.
• Prepare various reports, including Pre-Sentence Reports, Breach Reports, and Information for MAPPA.
• Monitor compliance and progress, providing reports as required.
• Facilitate the transition from youth justice to adult probation services.
• Stay current with developments, policies, procedures, and new legislation in the Probation Service, and maintain connections with the Probation Service link manager and local teams.

Requirements

• Must be a qualified Probation Officer.
• Experience working with adolescents candidates is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in managing transitions from youth justice to probation is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Enhanced DBS registered to the update service.
