Human Resources Advisor – Nottingham

Salary: £ 13.47 Per Hour

Full Time (35 hours per week)

Role Purpose:

To support the delivery of HR/OD related advice and guidance to designated teams that meet customer needs and lead to workforce and organisational improvements. To be the first point of call for HR/OD advisory matters and to provide departmental analytical analysis that delivers HR/OD interventions, on behalf of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a line manager's first point of call in employee-related matters. Using a coaching style provide timely advice, support and guidance to ensure managers are equipped to make appropriate management decisions that are fit for purpose, safe and fair.
  • With appropriate support provide advice and guidance to managers in designated teams on employee relations, casework and service redesign issues. Liaise with other teams and services as required including Employee Wellbeing and Pensions.
  • Support the team with facilitating trade union discussions and providing relevant data to trade union forums (local JCNCs and Central Panel).
  • Support the HR team to deliver the required resourcing interventions and with research and benchmarking comparisons for market factor intelligence and other recruitment or retention purposes, ensuring roles are attractive to a diverse candidate pool and are responsive to market conditions.
  • Take the lead with managing the departmental redeployment and exit status of colleagues that are displaced and work with the other HR Advisers to support cross-departmental redeployment cases, minimising organisational redundancy costs.
  • Support the HR team with departmental data and analytics on sickness absence, case management, equality impacts from policies and procedures, recruitment, reward and the take up of schemes, development and training, ensuring that performance cycles are adhered to and analysis is provided in a timely way to facilitate good decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Work with the central HR/OD teams to support improvements in the accessibility and availability of HR/OD information on the intranet and the People Management Handbook, to facilitate in order for management to find online HR advice easily and quickly.
  • Support the Departmental teams with establishment control, managing the recording of key decisions (officer / political) and maintaining shared drives that are consistent across all departmental teams, working with the HR coordinator. To hold key operational liaison with EMSS for any Oracle changes.
