ICT Support Engineer – Islington (Temp Vacancy)

Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.00ph

Full-Time (37 hours)

Job Purpose:

To provide high quality 1st / 2nd line ICT technical support to schools and other education settings primarily through site visits, with occasional remote support as required to support service delivery or cover for absence.

Accountabilities:

  • To respond to ICT technical support requests providing first and second line support for equipment and software, taking ownership of faults through to resolution
  • To install, configure and support hardware and software across common operating systems in use in schools
  • To provide support for cloud platforms used in schools
  • To proactively carry out routine maintenance and updates to ensure ICT is functioning effectively to support teaching, learning, management and administration in each school
  • To use helpdesk software to manage workflow, escalate calls as required within the published local procedures and provide feedback to other members of the team and schools clients, updating calls on a regular basis to ensure that expectations are managed appropriately
  • To build and maintain positive relationships with key staff at all levels within school, ensuring that effective lines of communication are in place
  • Liaise with other third-party suppliers providing ICT services to schools
  • To contribute to the maintenance of accurate records relating to incidents, requests, assets, licenses and other aspects of ICT service management
  • Follow agreed procedures and contribute the maintenance and development of accurate and concise documentation
  • Work as part of the wider Schools’ ICT Support team covering all aspects of ICT in schools DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To provide relief helpdesk cover as required; responding to calls logged with the School ICT and MIS support helpdesk, categorising and assigning them appropriately
  • Undertake other duties commensurate to the grade of the post as directed by your line manager
