Worcestershire County Council - Communications Account Manager

Location: County Hall, Worcester, WR5 2NP

Contract: Initial contract to 6th May 2021 with possible further extension.

Hours: Full Time – Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 Hours a Week)

Payrate: £16.71 an Hour

Job Purpose:

To protect and enhance the reputation of the Council; to raise the profile of the Council and the county and to engage effectively with our target audiences through the creation of compelling content.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Be a designated expert for the creation of communications content to be delivered to target audiences across digital and traditional channels.

Provide expert counsel to the Cabinet, elected members and senior officers regarding written, visual, audio and social media content.

Ensure the regular creation of content that showcases and promotes Worcestershire County Council and delivers on Council priorities.

Create bespoke content for owned, earned and paid for channels to reach target audiences.

Ensure the accuracy and topicality of materials that are created by yourself and those who you may be supervising on projects and campaigns.

Develop and implement innovative and creative content strategies on behalf of the County Council and its officers.

Advise on the use of multi-media channels to engage with audiences and to support the aims of the Content & Communications team: to protect the reputation of the Council,

to raise its profile and to engage effectively with key audience groups.

Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of content marketing campaigns and provide evidence-based data on performance, when requested, to senior officers.

Manage any content production, marketing and campaign budgets assigned to you by the Senior Content Creative.

Proactively originate and develop creative ideas for content that promotes the services provided by Worcestershire County Council.

When required to so, work with external agencies and consultants to deliver compelling campaigns.

With the support of the Senior Content Creative, supervise and manage projects assigned to those external agencies.

Develop strong relationships with officers at all levels of the Council, with Cabinet Members, Members and valued partners.

Maximise the use and effectiveness of the Council's owned and available channels while developing effective communities across social media platforms.

Create and contribute to a working environment where ideas and innovations are encouraged.

Attend and proactively contribute to relevant meetings e.g. public consultations, team meetings.

Undertake continual professional development to ensure multi-media, digital and new content marketing techniques are applied, as appropriate, across the Council.

Undertake any other duties as may be required by the Senior Content Creative or the Senior Content & Communications Manager.
