DDaT Information & Records Senior Manager

London

Salary: £55-65k

Duration:  12 months

Role Summary:

This role has day to day responsibility for managing and leading the team who deliver Information and Data Governance and Policy.

This includes ensuring the Agency has appropriate policy in place, providing support to the office of SIRO, DPO and DRO, managing and supporting the Agency’s data governance structure (including secretariat functions),

implementing the information risk framework and providing data protection advice to the Agency.

Role Responsibilities, Outputs & Deliverables:

Day to Day Management of x4 teams (Data and Information Lifecycle Management, Data Governance, Data Protection and Privacy Team and Information Risk teams)

Provide Information and Data Management advise to the Agency

Supporting the data governance structure

Support the information risk framework and ensure the Agency has appropriate controls and mitigation in place

Work across teams to ensure cohesion of delivery, prioritising work as necessary and raising risks as appropriate

Manage organisational change and effectively plan, implement, and communicate changes with stakeholders.

Manage resources effectively and ensure financial control of local budgets.

Attend cross organisational work groups and engage with business representatives to ensure optimum service provision and best practice is promulgated.

Work with government departments and represent the agency at cross government committee/meetings (as required).

Manage/coach staff and provide guidance on Information and Records Management and general personal development.

Work cooperatively with staff and colleagues, to promote high performance and adherence to corporate values. To manage issues relating to the performance and conduct of officers (as required).

Lead on building effective internal and external partner relations and work collaboratively with stakeholders and external agencies.

Lead, promote and implement Health and Safety measures and ensure risk assessments are conducted effectively in line with Agency policy and safety legislation.

Skills Transfer Requirements:

Throughout the period in terms of supporting and upskilling staff and then as a handover to appointed FTE.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Demonstrable experience and understanding of Data Protection and Legislation, Information and Records Management.

Knowledge:

Good understanding of working in an Information and Records Management environment.

Broad knowledge of relevant legislation affecting information management and records activity.

Detailed understanding of the life cycle of records and the implications.

Skills:

Ability to formulate and write policy.

Report writing/drafting skills to Board Level.

Proficient in the use of information technology.

Experience:

Experience of Information and Records Management.

Proven experience of leading and managing a multifunctional team.

Experienced in effective decision making with accountability for decisions made.
