Location: Civic Centre, Enfield, EN1 3XY
Contract: Perm
Hours: Full Time – Monday – Friday
Payrate: £48k
Job Description
You will be responsible for leading several projects across a range of schemes including, fire safety led improvement works, energy efficiency improvement projects, internal and external works, etc
and you will be responsible for resolving legacy issues from previous projects, such as defective works, contract disputes etc.
We are seeking applicants who have already achieved MRICs/ MCIOB or equivalent professional qualifications or are working towards this.
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate significant experience on major works projects preferably within a local authority or housing association and a wide range of specialist skills including building surveying, project management and budgetary control.
We have a broad programme of projects and would welcome applicants who have already achieved MRICs/ MCIOB or equivalent professional qualifications.
To be shortlisted you must be able to clearly demonstrate the following:
Excellent building surveying skills and knowledge of construction methods
Experience in managing and running multiple complex building projects at the same time.
a full understanding of Health & Safety and CDM 2015 requirements in construction works
Understanding of contract law and excellent knowledge of standard form contracts and Contract Administration
Experience of managing contractors and consultants to deliver within budgets and timescales
Good knowledge of the current Fire Safety requirements for high-and low-rise properties.
Relevant technical/professional qualification in a construction related field such as Building Surveying, Architecture etc.
Good report writing and presentation skills and able to communicate to all levels of stakeholders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Programme and Project Management
Assume responsibility for achieving corporate objectives through the delivery of Housing Capital Projects and work streams.
Develop and maintain mechanisms to ensure that the benefits of project and programme activities are identified and measured.
Implement, monitor, and review management processes and procedures to ensure consistency of high project management standards across projects in terms of effective forecasting, planning and reporting on time, costs and quality.
The programme and projects should be managed according to Enfield’s corporate project management standards.
Ensure project and programme delivery within the context of corporate priorities and objectives.
Manage internal and external suppliers to the projects and programmes, ensuring they deliver services and products which will achieve the project and programme’s aims and benefit the business.
Ensure all stakeholders, internal and external, are identified and managed appropriately, ensuring regular engagement with Members and working with Senior Managers frequently.
Monitor performance against plans, reporting as appropriate.
Co-ordinate projects and programmes and work with the business and project management community to ensure all interdependencies and associated risks are captured and effectively managed.
Monitor and report on the progress of the overall Housing Capital programme. Make recommendations for action and act to ensure objectives, timescales and outcomes are met.
Implement processes to ensure that risks and issues are identified, managed and resolved, escalating where necessary.
Ensure that projects and programmes are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and appropriate action taken.
Produce appropriate documentation to support these processes.
Ensure that all programmes and projects risks and issues logs are completed within corporate and directorate deadlines and that programmes and projects are assessed thoroughly and reviewed on a regular basis.;
